The Challenge
Outdated technology unable to address evolving needs & challenges
Kinexus’ outdated system could not validate or properly measure data from a performance perspective. “We had to be scrappy”, said Kinexus Group CIO Josh Cosner. “We were working with a database that was almost 20 years old. To be able to facilitate the diverse programs we have, many of them unique or local to the area needs, we needed a more robust Case Management System. We needed one who could not only handle core programs, but unique needs as well as help us organize information. We spent a lot of time having to track down information ourselves, it was a huge time drain on our staff."
The Solution
Centralized data tracking and intuitive dashboards
Leveraging Launchpad’s workforce development software, Kinexus was able to modernize how they track client enrollments. “The customization of data based on what we needed for external-facing programs transformed the way we track information. Our clients are on average enrolled in 2.2 programs each, and youth can be enrolled in 5 programs or more. We can see it all in one place. It makes it really easy to manage” Cosner said.
Kinexus is also able to monitor its business services efforts. When COVID-19 began to impact the Michigan region, Kinexus was able to quickly set up Dashboards on the Launchpad software to track the affected industries and job losses. “We are monitoring retention rates, contact hours, barriers, number of dollars being spent, geographic information, public transportation routes. Having this information readily available is really driving engagement and identifying where focus needs to be,” said Cosner.
