Leveraging Launchpad to Connect Residents to Healthcare Careers
The Memphis Medical District Collaborative is a nonprofit community development organization founded in 2016 to strengthen the District around its major healthcare and education institutions. Its Hire Local program connects residents across eight District zip codes to training, education, and employment with anchor employers and local workforce providers. MMDC runs the program on Launchpad's Workforce Development Cloud, giving residents a public-facing application path and giving staff one connected system for intake, services, and enrollment tracking.
The Challenge
One Program, Multiple Partners, No Single System to Track It.
The Solution
One Connected Platform, From First Application to Placement.

MMDC runs Hire Local on Launchpad's Workforce Development Cloud. Public-facing application links route residents directly into Launchpad's forms, so intake starts the moment someone applies. Every participant then flows through one connected system: front-facing applications that feed directly into the platform with no separate portal or re-keying, up-skill and training tracking for healthcare pathways including CNA certification routes into anchor hospitals, case management referrals and supportive services managed against each participant record, and enrollment tracking that ties applicants to specific trainings and reports outcomes back to funders.
Because the platform is fully extendable, MMDC configures forms, pathways, and reporting without writing code, adapting as funding requirements and partner needs change.

Residents can apply on their own through public-facing forms, and staff can follow each participant from that first application through training and placement in one system. Case management, supportive services, and enrollment tracking live in the same place, which gives MMDC reporting that holds up for grant funders, including the City of Memphis community service grant supporting the program.
